MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy // Review

This eye kohl from MAC is described as 'intense bronze'. It is essentially a warm dark brown with tiny flecks of gold shimmer running through it, very pretty and great for summer. 

As you can tell, this is a well-loved item in my makeup bag. Since purchasing this eyeliner, it has become my go-to brown for a quick and easy smokey eye. I often find myself wearing this on a day-to-day basis and I don't find the tiny shimmer particles too much for daytime wear. The kohl formula is creamy and smudges easily which is great for creating a smokey look, but it does have the disadvantage of poor longevity. I find that the liner does fade throughout the day and needs reapplying which is annoying as it is such a lovely shade.

Even though it may not last the longest time, I do still really love this eyeliner as it is just so pretty and easy to wear. The MAC eye kohls retail for £14 and are available from MAC stores and online. Have you tried Teddy? 

Garnier BB Cream for combination to oily skin // Review

Garnier have recently released a new addition to their BB cream range, one aimed towards combination to oily skin types. I avoided the original Garnier formula as I find BB creams tend to not last long on my combination skin and often look too shiny, but as soon as I heard that  Garnier had released this new formula I knew I had to try it!

The new BB cream formula claims 'Anti-shine, Blurs pores + imperfections, Evens tone + boosts glow, Moisturises and has SPF 20 UV protection.' It is also non comedogenic and oil free. From the claims and ingredients it certainly sounds promising...

After using this BB cream for a few weeks now I'm very impressed. I've used other BB creams in the past and found them unsuitable for my combination skin type, but this Garnier product has everything that I'm looking for! It lasts all day on my skin, has a light to medium coverage and gives me the sun protection that my skin needs - a perfect product for everyday wear, spring, summer and holidays. The only downside of this BB cream is the colour selection. Currently the product is only available in two shades - light and medium. I have the lightest shade which has the perfect yellow undertone for my skin but is still slightly too dark for my pale complexion. However, if it is blended into my neck I can still wear this colour but it would be nice to see more colours in the range. 

I feel that this BB cream is suitably catered towards my combination skin and I would repurchase this product as I feel it is the perfect all-in-one solution. The Garnier BB cream is £9.99 for 40ml and is available from both Boots and Superdrug stores as well as online.

Tangle Teezer Original // Review

Who would have thought that this simple looking piece of pink plastic could combat my ultra tangly mane? Yes, it may not look the most high-tech hair brush but it sure works a treat!

On their website the Original Tangle Teezer is described as being, '...loved by hairdressers and used in professional salons. It's a super smooth operator that works the minute hair is lathered and rinsed. Glides through wet, vulnerable and colour treated hair with no pulling, tugging or yanking.'

The bristles combat knotty hair whilst being gentle - a god-send to those of us with long wavy hair. I have always struggled with de-tangling my hair and I have to say that this product is the best thing that I have found and takes all the fuss and pain out of the task! It pulls a lot less on the hair than a regular hairbrush thus minimising breakage. 

The brush itself is compact and lightweight, so perfect for travelling or putting into a handbag. The shape of the brush is designed to fit into the palm of your hand and is comfortable and easy to use.

Overall I would recommend this product to anyone who struggles with knotty hair. I have the Tangle Teezer 'Original' which comes in a variety of bright colours. The Tangle Teezer retails for £10.99 and is available from the Tangle Teezer website and Boots stores.

Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme - Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara // Review

Estée Lauder is a brand that always entices me with its beautiful packaging. The sumptuous extreme mascara is no exception. The packaging of this mascara feels luxurious with its sleek gold tube and navy blue writing, certainly living up to the high-end makeup expectations that one can expect from Estée Lauder.

The brush itself is on the large side, which usually results in difficult application, however this brush has been tapered to allow for precise movement in tricky areas such as the inside corner of the eye.

Estée Lauder claim that this mascara creates 'outrageous volume, lift and curves for an audacious, false-lash effect.' The formulation of the mascara in extreme black is a great inky black, and certainly creates volume, however I did find it to clump the lashes on the second coat. Having said this, the mascara lasted all day with no flaking or smudging and was easily removed with a regular makeup remover.

  

Although I do like this masacra, I think that it is over-priced and that I could achieve similar results with cheaper alternatives, but if you are after a luxurious volumising mascara then this could be the one for you. The sumptuous extreme mascara is available in four colours; extreme black, extreme brown, extreme cobalt and extreme emerald. It costs £22.00 and is available from Estée Lauder stands and Boots stores as well as online.

Lasting Finish Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in 107 // Review

These Kate Moss matte lipsticks from Rimmel were launched in Autumn 2012, adding to the existing Kate Moss lipstick collection. I have a couple of lipsticks from the range and have to say that they are very good quality for the price. 

This particular lipstick in the colour 107 is a deep wine colour in a matte finish. It has a cherry scent which is pleasant when applying but doesn't linger afterwards. I found myself wearing this lipstick quite a bit over the winter months as the deep colour seems perfect for the cold weather. The only downside to this lipstick is the matte formula can be slightly drying on the lips so I would recommend wearing a lip balm underneath. 

There doesn't seem to be many matte lipsticks available in high street stores so it's nice to see an affordable option from Rimmel. Overall I really like this lipstick and am looking forward to trying some more colours from the matte range. The Kate Moss lipsticks are available from both Boots and Superdrug stores and are priced at £5.49.

Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner Black // Review

I was given this liner for free when I spent £4.99 on the Collection gel eyeliner. It is not something I would have picked up on my own accord as I have never used a felt tip liner before and didn't really expect to like this much... but I am surprised to say that I do!

The liner claims 'All day wear for perfectly defined eyes. Easy to apply, fast dry formula' and I have to say it certainly lives up to these claims. This liner is incredibly easy and fuss free to use! The felt tip applicator takes the time and mess out of creating a winged eye it also dries very quickly which minimises any smudging. It is a great deep black and lasts all day with no flaking or fading like pencils or liquid can. 

The Extreme Felt Tip liner is priced at £2.99, which I think is amazing value for money and is available in four colours - purple, teal, black and blue. 

I definitely think this eyeliner would be suitable for those who find creating a winged liner difficult and want to learn the technique before using liquid or gel. Or like me, those who want to save time and create a winged eye in a matter of minutes.
